Silver Dollar City has been one of Branson's most popular attractions since 1960, when it was founded by Hugo Herschend. With thrilling rides like The Giant Swing, handmade crafts available everywhere, and world-class entertainment, it is no wonder why Silver Dollar City has become so popular among both locals and travellers alike.

Marvel Cave was the original main attraction in Silver Dollar City when the park was first concieved in 1960. The cave itself however has been around since 1500 AD. There are still tours of it regularly, and the cost of the tour is included with your ticket price to Silver Dollar City.

Silver Dollar City's original main attraction was Marvel Cave, where the first theme park was built around. It was opened in 1960 by Hugo Herschend, a Danish immigrant from Chicago, and his wife Mary. The Herschends had been leasing the cave as a tourist attraction and eventually introduced their idea for an 1880's Ozark Mountain Village. Thus Silver Dollar City was born.

Silver Dollar City features many other attractions aside from Marvel Cave. With 30 rides, including the brand new Giant Swing, as well as 60 different craft booths and multiple festivals throughout the year, it seems nearly impossible to be bored in Silver Dollar City.

Discounted tickets to Silver Dollar City are not hard to come by in Branson. Many are available at various resorts and hotels, while others come in packaged deals through companies. Still, be sure to look out for the occasional promotional deal.

Tickets to Silver Dollar City can be purchased on-line at the Silver Dollar City homepage or at the front of the park. Some tickets come in special packages that include passes to other Branson attractions, and for the avid Branson visitor, there are season passes available.

Season Passes allow unlimited access to not only Silver Dollar City, but also Celebration City and the White Water water park for the season. Adult season pass holders also save 50% on lunch and dinner aboard the Showboat Branson Belle.
